Where are the skilled people?

Who are we?

Whilst NZ machine shops compete with one another for local work, progressive companies will acknowledge the real competition comes from overseas markets.

Who are we?

Our mission is to provide a venue for progressive machine shops to get around a table and talk about industry issues.

The Industry Round Table has focused on the difficulty in attracting skilled staff for CNC machining.

These discussions commenced prior to Covid-19 which has now shut down the immigration of skilled staff to New Zealand.
Clearly the need to grow our own skills has become more urgent.

Two initiatives have come out of this:

Working with progressive High Schools to encourage young people to take up apprenticeships in Machining

Developing our own set of CNC micro-skills for trade and non-trade people
